Our Team, our Energy!

In a proactive move towards sustainability, during 2023 and for the first time, we adopted energy efficiency measures in alignment with the ISO 50001 standard. This decision reflects our dedication to reducing energy consumption, cutting operational costs, and minimizing our environmental footprint.

We care about Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is not only an ethical imperative but also a strategic advantage for businesses seeking to enhance competitiveness and resilience in a rapidly evolving market. By adhering to the ISO 50001 standard, we create a systematic framework for improving energy performance, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This commitment not only enhances our environmental credentials but also demonstrates DESFA’S responsibility and leadership in sustainability.

How we implement ISO 50001

DESFA is implementing ISO 50001 compliance through:

  1. Energy Audits and Assessments: Conducting comprehensive energy audits and assessments to identify areas of energy wastage, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  2. Establishing Energy Management Systems (EnMS): Developing and implementing robust energy management systems based on the ISO 50001 standard. This involves setting energy performance indicators (EnPIs), defining objectives, and establishing processes for monitoring, measurement, and analysis of energy consumption.
  3. Establishment of the Energy Management Team: Energy Management Team (Net-Zero Team) was established with participants from all DESFA’s Divisions in order to propose future energy efficient Project and monitor the ones already in progress.
  4. Employee Engagement and Training: Engaging employees at all levels and providing training to raise awareness about energy conservation practices, encourage behavior change, and foster a culture of energy efficiency throughout the organization.
  5. Risk Assessment: We identified various types of Risks & Opportunities referring to energy efficiency strategy (Operational, Financial, Compliance & Human Factors).
  6. Investing in Energy-Efficient Technologies: Deploying energy-efficient technologies and equipment, optimizing operations, and exploring renewable energy options to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
