DESFA’s ongoing auction process for booking unloading slots and re-gasification capacity at the Revithoussa LNG Terminal has garnered significant market interest. The fact that all but four slots for the period 2025-2030 have already been booked is indicative of the high demand, as well as a confirmation of Revithoussa’s critical role for the energy efficiency of Greece and the broader region, reflecting growing market trust for Greece’s LNG infrastructure.
The increased utilization of the Revithoussa facility reinforces Greece’s position as a regional energy gateway, enhancing supply diversification and energy security in full alignment with the Vertical Corridor’s strategic objectives. Greece’s LNG exports are expected to singnificantly increase in the coming years, thanks to the upgrade and expansion of natural gas infrastructure in the country, through projects, such as the Karperi – Komotini pipeline, the Compression Stations in Ampelia, Komotini and Nea Messimvria (Booster Compression Station) which will further enhance export capacity to international markets.
