In regard to the recent developments of Coronavirus (COVID-19) spread in Greece, DESFA is actively taking part of the Coordination Group, created by the Minister of Energy, including the main Greek Companies operating energy infrastructures, and follows the guidelines of the Public Authorities, providing for the need of coordinated efforts to minimize the spread of the infection.
Since February 24th, DESFA has started to apply a series of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the disease in its premises and to the public, as a responsible organization always acting for the benefit of its employees, partners, customers and the entire community.
Besides those measures, already applied and communicated to all employees and stakeholders (creation of a Prevention Task Force, early preventive measures for critical services, hygiene advices, travel and meeting restrictions, encouragement of teleconferences for corporate meetings, introduction of dedicated private hotlines, etc.), DESFA has introduced the possibility for all employees, as well as business partners, to work remotely, enabling full business continuity. This measure has been applied for all facilities, as a consequence of the evolution of the situation in Greece, to protect DESFA’s employees and to support those families, who need to attend their kids at home, because of restrictions in force or for any other reason.
In regard to the continuous services, mainly located in Revithoussa and along the pipeline network, these are guaranteed through special emergency team composition, shifts duration, working procedures and dedicated back up procedures, according to the Emergency Response Plan of DESFA and to the best international standards, also relying on the expertize of DESFA’s private shareholders that are facing similar situations in other European Countries.
