DESFA, being faithful to its vision and mission to provide continuous know-how, develops critical infrastructures and provides a wide range of high quality integrated services, promoting the continuous and comprehensive training of its staff.
On this occasion, the National Natural Gas System (NNGS) Operations Division staff completed successfully the training on the ROAIMS platform (ROSEN’s Asset Integrity Management Framework), which took place between June 24 to 28 at the Operation and Maintenance Center of Southern Greece in Patima Elefsinas by the international company ROSEN Europe.
The ROAIMS platform is a specialized, modern software package for pipeline analysis and integrity, tailored to the needs and requirements of DESFA. The package offers the ability for further updates and expansions necessary.
Specifically with the training, the first phase of the project that involves installation of the software, data integration into a consolidated database for an initial number of NNGTS sections and risk model pilot application, was completed. For the following year (from July 1, 2019 up to 2020), it is planned to extend the installed PIMS (Pipeline Integrity Management System) and continue to collect data at multiple levels in parallel, in order to create an up-to-date, thorough and user-friendly database. At the next and even more important stage of the Integrity Plan lies the data analysis, evaluation of all infrastructures and the assessment of the risks and pipelines integrity.
Finally, in the third phase, taking into account all results, conclusions and findings arising, decisive and effective actions will be taken, aiming to reduce or eliminate risks, improving at the same time NNGS reliability and better managing the company’s resources.
