The Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator was the silver sponsor of the “2nd EcoMobility Conference” that took place on January 22, 2019 at Aigli Zappeiou in Athens and was co-organized by the think tank “Hellenic Association for Energy Economics” (HAEE) and the finance authority of insider.gr portal, under the Auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy and the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks. Speakers at the conference, on behalf of DESFA, were Fernando Alejandro Kalligas Castiella, Member of DESFA BoD and Country Manager for Enagas και Joseph Florentin, Business Development Department Manager for DESFA.
Mr. Kalligas Castiella presented “Enagás Emprende”, a pioneering program of Enagas on corporate entrepreneurship and open innovation, analyzing next “Gas2move”. “Gas2move” is one of the five start-ups of the “Enagás Emprende” program and one of the first eco-sustainable last mile service operators, having over 130 vehicles powered by alternative sources of energy, such as CNG.
Mr. Florentin analyzed the natural gas networks in the green transportation era, emphasizing the prospects of LNG as an alternative fuel for road transports. He also talked about the synergies that may arise by other uses of LNG and could possibly enhance the LNG distribution network, regarding its use in transports.
