DESFA has developed and implements a complete Competence Management System in Health & Safety, Security, Environment and Quality, HSSEQ CMS. Each new employee of the company is provided with introductory training on the above-mentioned topics. Thereafter and depending on the duties assigned to him or her before taking up the job, he or she is trained and assessed on the respective subjects through HSSEQ CMS. At the same time, competences are constantly monitored and depending on the circumstances, targeted actions are carried out to ensure that our staff are always aware of new risks and work in such a way as to ensure human health, safety, environmental protection, public safety, and quality of service.

The company has developed solid partnerships and synergies with renowned institutions and research institutes across the whole range of its activities related to HSSEQ issues.

DESFA, driven by extroversion, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Hellenic Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (EL.IN.Y.A.E.) and implements joint actions and programs related to staff vigilance and culture enhancement.

In addition, under the auspices of the National Research Institute of Democritus, it participates in the national network Climpact, which is a pole of authoritative and multifaceted expertise and an advisory body to the State and society on issues related to the fight against Climate Change.

We maintain open lines of communication with the local government and residents of our facilities, which are “open” for educational updates for schools and institutions. Regular updates and presentations of the company’s performance in these important areas are made on a regular basis. Our participation in recognized competitions have been crowned with successes and awards. Recently, after a three-year presence in Kuwait, the company’s team there was awarded the best contractor in HSE, and as a company we received the HSE Excellence Award from the American Society of Safety Professionals.

The company, in line with the “General Plan for Dealing with Accidents during the Transmission and Distribution of Natural Gas through Pipelines, within the framework of the General Plan for Civil Protection with the code name “Xenokratis”, has established lines of communication with the competent authorities and plans joint actions aimed at the practical protection of man, the environment and the unhindered national service it provides as a pillar of the country’s energy balance.
