Students of the Professional Diploma ‘Logistics & Supply Chain Management’ of the BCA college visited on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, the LNG Terminal Station of Revithoussa and attended a daily educative seminar, regarding the procedures of Logistics & the Supply Chain Management, which are being implemented in a LNG Station, such as the LNG Terminal Station of Revithoussa and in a transmission network, such as the NNGS.
During their visit, the students were guided at the LNG facilities of Revithoussa by Mr. Ioannis Karagiannis, LNG Department Manager, who presented to them the Terminal Station and its facilities. They also attended a series of presentations by Mr. Petros Theodorakis, Division Director of Administrative Services, Mr. Nikos Katsis, Operations Division Director, Sotiris Bravos, Commercial Division Director, Ioannis Karagiannis, LNG Department Manager and Dimitris Sarris, Gas Flow Department Manager.
The presentations highlighted projects that have been implemented, regarding the transformation of DESFA’s Supply Chain and its management through the gas transmission network. Representatives of DESFA highlighted the important role the Revithoussa LNG Terminal Station plays as the Gateway of Natural Gas in the Greek and Regional Energy Market, as well as the pillar of securing the smooth supply of the market with natural gas and the balance of the transmission network.. Finally, the balancing procedure for the National Natural Gas System was presented, as well as the framework that regulates Access to the NNGS.
A special reference was made to the 3rd LNG storage tank that put recently in operation and has contributed significantly to the avoidance of supply crises in the previous years in our country, as well as to the increase of the rate of gasification of up to 40%. The educational visit of the students was completed with the presentation of future projects that will be carried out at the LNG Facility of Revithoussa for the development of the Small Scale LNG infrastructures.
