The term CCS refers to the entire value chain, from the capture of carbon dioxide in polluting facilities, to its transport and final storage in special geological formations.
The role of a transport network that will aggregate and transport CO2 volumes from different emitters – but also that of its liquefaction in the event that it is required for further transport by sea via special vessels – is of great importance as it can enable the creation of economies of scale and significantly reduce the cost of the supply chain, making CCS the more mature and attractive option for decarbonization.
