DESFA, in an attempt to stay true to its Corporate Social Responsibility Program and towards the Environment, organized on Sunday, 13 June 2010 an afforestation project, under the motto "Plant a Tree and Give a Breath of  Life to Earth", in the organization's premises in Patima, Eleusina, with the participation of the company's employees and their families.

Mr. P. Mavrokefalos, President of the BoD, commenced the afforestation, followed by Dr. G. Paparsenos, CEO and Mr. A. Giannakopoulos, Gas Transportation Division Director.

Everyone, who participated, had the chance to plant a tree of their choice and to name it after their own name and, hence to follow its development.

All the trees were chosen based on their quick development, such as the sycamore, the Constantinople acacia and the mulberry trees, to fit in to the surroundings and the natural flora of the area, such as the oak.

Furthermore, employees' children had the chance to learn, through interactive games, about theWorld Environment Day, how to use energy efficiently and our actions for better living standards.

In addition, DESFA launched a biological management and control process of small scale organic waste (pest control) by installing compost tumblers, in order to make the most out of the waste it produces in favor of the environment.

Finally, both DESFA's Administration, as well as, its employees have committed to proceed with similar actions in the organization's other sites and premises, always according to sustainable living standards.
